This weekend, Loris Hezemans will continue his journey to obtain the NASCAR Cup Series license by participating in the Xfinity Series race at Pocono Raceway. All this with the goal off making his NASCAR cup series debut in 2022.
In March, Hezemans already successfully made his oval debut on the half-mile track of Phoenix Raceway To obtain your license, NASCAR requires that you have successfully competed all oval tracks. Hence, this Saturday Hezemans will be at the starting line at the 2.5-mile track of Pocono Raceway also known as “The Tricky Triangle” .
This time Loris will be racing for the DGM Motorsports team with the support of Reaume Brothers Racing. The 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series champion will get behind the wheel of their #90 Chevrolet Camaro.
“I am extremely happy to announce that I will be participating in my second NASCAR Xfinity race of the year and my first at Pocono Raceway driving for DGM Motorsports with support from Reaume Brothers Racing. Priority number one will be to drive a clean race and finish, whilst gaining as much experience as possible. With no practice or qualifying it will be about adapting as quickly as possible to the track, as well as to the car and how it reacts on a faster oval such as Pocono as opposed to Phoenix. I would like to thank my sponsors Hezeberg Systems, Eurol, Momo and TimeZone for their support.”
The Pocono Green 225 Recycled by J.P. Mascaro & Sons will be run on Sunday, June 27. The green flag will be waved around 18:00 CET.
